Still living as of 1996. He was outspoken in his defense of everyday American workers, whether in the automovbile plants of his home district or in the halls of federal agencies in Washington. Members: several Democratic organizations; Phi Delta Phi; Michigan, Detroit, Downriver, and American Bar Association; National Institute of Municipal Law Officers; Rotary; Junior Chamber of Commerce; Allen Park Key Lodge No. 580, FEAM; Scottish Rite, Valley of Detroit; Moslem Temple, Detroit; Loyal Order of Moose no. 887; PTA; Taylor Township Businessmen's Association. Received Distinguished Service Award in 1962
