Biographical Sketch:
He moved to Wisconsin in 1850 and then to Michigan in 1866. He enlisted in Company I, 1st Regiment, Wiscosin Volunteers in 1861; appointed Orderly Sergeant; commissioned captin and rose through the ranks to Colonel of the 14th Regiment, Wiscinsin V. V. Infantry. After 2 years as Colonel he acheived the brevet rank of Brigadier General.
