Biographical Sketch:
Of English ancestry. Son of Julius C. & Rachel W. (Wetherby) Kinne. He came to Michigan to attend university. After graduating, he went to Washington, DC and worked in the diplomatic bureau of the US Treasury while attending Columbian Law School in Washington, DC; 1867, admitted to the bar. Moved to Ann Arbor to practice. He served as city recorder, mayor of Ann Arbor [1875-77]; circuit judge in Michigan 22nd Circuit, 1888-1917; president, First National Bank, Ann Arbor; president, Washtenaw Gas Co. Member of Sigma Phi; Masons; Knights Templar.
