Biographical Sketch:
Representative in 1843 and 1855, and Senator in 1853, was born in Cayuga county, N.Y., October 17, 1803, and died February 3, 1870. A farmer, and politically a Democrat. He located at Tecumseh in 1826, and in 1828 was the first settler in what is now the township of Bridgewater, where he resided until his death. He was a colonel in the Black Hawk war, a delegate in the constitutional convention of 1867, and a justice of the peace.
