Biographical Sketch:
He came to Michigan with his parents, George G. and Clarissa (Howard) Martindale, in 1867, [naturalized in 1888], and settled on a farm in the township of Greenfield. He taught for 6 years and was principal of the McMillan school. His health failing, he spent 3 years in the southern states. Returning to Detroit, he began the study of law in 1895, and was admitted to the bar in 1898.
