Son of Moses and Mary Bateman King. Came to Michigan in 1832, and settled on a farm in Summerfield, Monroe Co. He was Town Clerk, Supervisor, Justice 9 years, and held other town offices. He moved to Raisinville where he was Supervisor, Justice, and overseer of the poor. He was a Democrat until 1856.
