Biographical Sketch:
Son of Daniel and Betsy (Spencer) Kinne. He emigrated from Erie County, NY, in 1838 and settled on a farm in Reading, Hillsdale County. He was 5 years Supervisor, and Justice of the Peace and Commissioner of Highways. In 1845, he was Associate Judge of the County. He was instrumental in causing the construction of the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railroad, Ft. Wayne Branch, through his part of the county, He was active in building a plank road from Reading to Hillsdale; in the Reading Manufacturing Company, and cheese factory. He died while on a business trip, advocating the construction of a Colby Factory in Reading, MI.
