Biographical Sketch:
He was born in New York, came to Flint, MI in 1844 and moved to Saginaw, MI in 1850, where he resided. He was the Town Clerk in 1851, and Treasurer in 1852. He was Alderman and Supervisor in Saginaw, and for three years chairman of the County Board of Supervisors. He was for eight years in the lumbering business, retiring in 1887.

He went to California in 1853 on horseback.
