Biographical Sketch:
Son of Amasa & Pheobe (Smith) Sessions. Moved to Michigan, 1833; went to Ohio for a time, teaching in Dayton, OH until 1835. Settled on a farm near Berlin, MI. Held local offices for many years. Helped organize the National Bank of Ionia in the 1860s & served as pres. of Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Co. Member of the Grange.
Notable Facts:
1st supervisor of Cass (later Berlin); Lt.Gov., 1877-81.
Originally interred in a private/family graveyard in Ionia Co., MI; later reinterred in Highland Park Cemetery, Ionia, MI.
