Biographical Sketch:
Son of Samuel and Marion (Henry) Sedgwick. He moved to Ann Arbor, as a lawyer, about 1835. He was Judge of Probate of Washtenaw County from 1840-44. He served as Ann Arbor Village president from 1845-49 and mayor of Ann Arbor, 1851-53.He was the head of the law firm of Sedgwick, Gott & Walker . He went to Chicago early in 1853 and became a leading lawyer there, serving a railroad company .
