Biographical Sketch:
Son of Rev.Thomas Wilson and Sarah J. (Turner) Monteith. The family lived briefly in Vassar, MI, before moving to Crown< IN and then to Janesville, WI. 1890 took them to Martin, MI but by 1899 they were back in Port Huron. He entered newspaper work in 1905 as a reporter for the Port Huron Daily Times, rising to the position of city editor. Afterward, he was city editor of the Daily Herald and Times Herald until 1911. when he became managing editor of the Port Huron Times Herald. He later became a general agent for the Detroit Life Insurance Company. He served asPort Huron police commissioner.
