Biographical Sketch:
Of German descent. Son of Charles and Louisa (Schuldice) Noll. At the age of 5, he moved with his parents to Ann Arbor, and later to Jackson. His father died when John was 14. At the age of 17, he entered into the employ of the E. M. Estey furniture company, in Owosso, MI. At 21, in May of 1886, he moved to Cheboygan where he engaged in a manufacturing business, establishing his own factory in 1889. He has served as alderman, 1892-93; mayor; city treasurer. 1905-06; and member and treasurer of the school board.. Member of the Elks and Order of the Eagles.
