Biographical Sketch:
Of English and Scottish descent. Son of John and Mary A. (McDonald) Coad. In 1862 enlisted in the 52d Massachusetts infantry; commissioned as surgeon in the 76th U. S. C. T., where he served until he was honorably discharged, and mustered out of service December 31, 1866; came to Williamston, MI in 1868 and practiced medicine . He served as president of the village and was a member of the board of education 10 years.
