Biographical Sketch:
Moved from Canada to Carson City, NV, 1879, but moved to St. Ignace, MI in August of 1880 to work for the Martel Furnace Co. He managed their Allenville plant until 1884. In 1885, he began lumbering for the Mackinaw Lumber Co. of St. Ignace. Served as Brevort Township supervisor, 1883, St. Ignace alderman, 1888-89 and mayor of St. Ignace, 1895.
