Biographical Sketch:
Son of Christian J. and Elizabeth (Gingrich) Fleischhauer. His family moved to Berlin, MI in 1870 and then to Reed City in 1877. He clerked in his father's grocery and crockery store after leaving school until becoming his partner in December ,1889. IN 1891, he sold his interest in the store and moved to Grand Rapids to engage in business. He returned to Reed City a year and a half later and clerked once more. He served 3 years as chairman of the township committee and was secretary of the young men's republican club from 1888-97
