Biographical Sketch:
Son of Calvin Fox. Came to Lapeer Co., MI in 1855. Moved to Mayville, Tuscola Co., in 1856. He lived in Flint for a time. Managed general store for W. H. Fife in Mayville, 1867-68. Managed general store in Cherokee, IA, 1868-69. Returned to Mayville, 1869, where he took charge of a general store for a few years . In 1876, he engaged in the mercantile business for himself , which is continued under the firm name of Edwin G. Fox & Son. He served as Fremont township clerk, 1870-77; register of deeds, Tuscola County, 1880-84; 2 years village president and 18 years on the school board.
