Biographical Sketch:
Taught school while in the seminary and in Illinois, 1863-64. Served as city attorney (1869-73), supervisor (1873-75), alderman and mayor (1875-76) of Owosso. Served as prosecuting attorney (1876-80), member and president of board of education (13 years) of Shiawassee County. Member, Republican State Central Committee, 1878-84. Member of Michigan state senate 17th District, 1881-82, 1895-96. Alternate delegate to Republican National Convention, 1888. Delegate to Republican National Convention, 1892. Delegate to Michigan state constitutional convention 14th District, 1907-08.
