Biographical Sketch:
Son of William and Jane N. (Dutchers) Baldwin. He moved to Niagara County, NY, with his parents, fall 1842; came to Michigan, spring 1865. Carpenter and farmer in Clinton County 1865-76. Mercantile business in village of Fowler. He held the office of Fowler commissioner of highways 3 years, and in the spring of 1870 was elected supervisor of Dallas township, being re-elected each year for 20 years thereafter. During 7 years of that time he was chairman of the Clinton County board of supervisors.
