Biographical Sketch:
Son of Jacob and Sarah (Diehl) Shull. His father died when he was 11 months old. The family moved back to Franklin Co., PA. He was a private in Co. G , 8th Pa. Cavalry, and was severely wounded in the battle at Sailor's Creek, VA , April 6, 1865. He was engaged in the drug trade for 2 years at Frederick, MD, 6 years at Topeka, KS, and 9 years at Lansing, MI. He moved to Tecumseh, MI, in September, 1883, when he began farming. He served 1 term as alderman in the city of Lansing and 2 terms as supervisor of Tecumseh Township. In 1920 he was secretary/treasurer at a foundry.
