Biographical Sketch:
Of English descent. Son of John P. Leland. He moved to the village of Fennville, MI in 1896. He operated a fruit and produce business and also sold fruit packages. He served as assessor, councilman and president of the village of Fennville; and as treasurer and supervisor of Manlius Township. He was on the Allegan County board of supervisors for 22 years.

Notable Facts:
He sold 11.6 acres of lakeshore property to the county of Allegan for a recreational park, later known as West Side County Park. In 1922, he gave the village of Fennville their first public park. Died in office.
