Biographical Sketch:
He moved to Flint in the spring of 1836. He was soon after appointed register in the land office. He was associated with Edward H. Thomson in the firm Bartow & Thomson. he was involved with the Farmers' Bank of Genesee County and the Genesee County Bank. He was held in high regard by those who knew him despite his love of drink.

Notable Facts:
Born in New York state. He one of the first early lawyers in Genesee county. He was delegate to the constitutional convention of 1850 for Genesee Co. He moved to Washington DC and died while in public service.
