Biographical Sketch:
Of English ancestry. Son of Samuel and Mary A. (Christian) Goodyear. Emigrated in 1852, locating in Pontiac, MI. Four years later he moved to Gaines Township in Genesee County, MI. He taught school in winter and worked the farm in the summer. Naturalized in 1887. He served as supervisor 6 years and was a member of the county committee for a number of years.
