Biographical Sketch:
On January 2, 1864, he enlisted in Company H, 25th Michigan infantry, and served in it and in the 28th Michigan for 2 and one - half years. From 1875-88, he engaged in newspaper work at Bangor. He published a paper at Hartford 4 years, then returned to Bangor and engaged in mercantile business. He served as township and county superintendent of schools; was postmaster at Bangor 7 years.
