Biographical Sketch:
Son of Oliver L. and Eliza [or Louisa](Barnard) Reed. At the outbreak of the civil war he ( at the age of 15) enlisted in Company I, 16th Michigan Volunteer Infantry, and served as a private; after the close of the war he went to Mecosta County, MI, and located on a homestead: shortly afterwards he engaged in general merchandise. He was also connected with farming, dairying, creamery and other general business. He served as supervisor of his township several terms.
