Biographical Sketch:
Of German descent. Son of Fred and Tracy (Brower) Kappler. He was in the employ of the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company for 24 years, leaving their service to engage in farming. He is a member of the Grange, the Knights of Columbus, Knights of Labor; and Western Federation of MIners; and the German Aid Society. He served 2 years as Lake Linden alderman. He was a member of the Lake Linden fire dept beginning in 1891

Notable Facts:
He was one of two Democrats to serve in the 1919 legislature. He was again elected November 6, 1934. May be listed as Frederick Kappler in biographical sources. Died in 1953.
