Of Swedish ancestry; son of August Ferdinand [Fred] and Clara Wilhelmina (Edstrom) Sundstrom. Emigrated about 1869. He engaged as a merchant at Michigamme. He served as a supervisor for 13 years, president of the board of education for 8 years, township treasurer for 4 years, and deputy collector of internal revenue for 5 and a half years. Member of the Modern Woodmen and the Elks.
