Biographical Sketch:
Of Irish ancestry. Son of William and Bridget (O'Hearn). His father took him to Toronto, ON, as an infant after his mother's death. While still in Canada, he studied law in the office of Hon. John O'Donohoe. In 1879, he was admitted to practice and shortly thereafter moved to Detroit, where he engaged in business for several years, and in 1887 resumed the practice of law at Sault Ste. Marie. In 1889, he was appointed city attorney by the common council, which position he held until after his election to the Legislature. In 1891, he moved to Iron Mountain, MI, serving one term as city attorney. In 1894, he moved to Menominee. He moved to Green Bay, WI in 1897 but returned to Menominee in 1903. Prosecuting attorney for Menominee County from 1906-1910. He was living in Menominee in 1910. Member of the Knights of Columbus
