Biographical Sketch:
Son of Arnold and Patience (Tanner) Holden. After his marriage in 1860, he moved to Dodge County, MN, and farmed summers while teaching winters. He returned to New York in 1865. He purchased a farm in Almira, Benzie Co., MI, in 1869. He served as school district officer for 13 years, supervisor 12 years, county surveyor 14 years and school examiner 8 years.
