Biographical Sketch:
Son of George W. and Elizabeth M. (Fitzsimmons) Lester. He came to Michigan with his parents in April, 1858, and located at Newaygo; moved to Ionia County four years later and engaged in farming in the township of Ronald; moved to Crystal in 1867, and engaged in general farming. He held the offices of Township Clerk, Township Treasurer, School Inspector and Highway Commissioner, and held the office of Supervisor. He was nominated by the Patrons of Industry and endorsed by the Democrats and Prohibitionists. Member of the Grange.
