Biographical Sketch:
Son of Edward and Mary (Kern) Miner. he came to Detroit with his parents in 1855. When he left school, he assisted his father in his business as a merchant/tailor. he began reading law in 1871 and was admitted to the bar in 1872 and worked for Levi Bishop until 1875 when he started his own practice. He was elected police justice of the city of Detroit in 1877, serving 12 years there. he was on the board of public lighting commissioners, 1897.

Notable Facts:
Instrumental in the rewriting of the metropolitan Police Law, giving the mayor power of appointment of police commissioners in Detroit, rather than the governor.. Obituary [DFPress] says he was born in Brooklyn, NY.
