Biographical Sketch:
He moved from Cooperstown, NY to Michigan in 1831. He built mills, including the first gristmill in Comstock, MI, in 1832, and gave a schoolhouse to the people. In 1839 he was a general in the state militia. He was one of the incorporators of the Kalamazoo & Lake Michigan Railroad. He served as supervisor of Comstock, 1840-45. He moved to Kalamazoo in 1844. He later moved to Otsego, MI, then to New York City.
