Moved to Ann Arbor, MI, 1830, then to Jackson, MI in 1835. Postmaster of Jackson from 1836 to 1846; established an iron foundry at Jackson in 1840. Resided in New Bedford, Wall Township, Monmouth County, until his death in 1866.
Notable Facts:
State treasurer of Michigan from 1846-1850; served in the 36th Congress from 3/4/1859-5/15/1860 when he was succeeded by William A. Howard, who successfully contested his election.
