Biographical Sketch:
He settled in Three Rivers in 1832 and named the village. He drew settlers by giving land to anyone who would build a house there. He was part of a group that built the Three Rivers mill. He also built a flouring mill in Colon in 1838. In 1848, he purchased what was later known as the Hoffman mill and operated it with Phillip Hoffman until 1855.
