Biographical Sketch:
Grew up on a farm in the Adirondack mountains; worked in the woods log cutting and hauling bark. Came to Michigan soon after marriage and settled in Forestville, working as a photographer. He later added retail drugs to his business for 3 years while he studied law. Admitted to the bar 1878. In 1888, he moved his practice to Minden City. He specialized in criminal law. Acted as the circuit court commissioner of Sanilac county.
