Biographical Sketch:
Son of John Stamm and Stella (Berghuis) Stamm. Kalamazoo County Clerk, 1941-66. Part-time instructor at Western Michigan University for the Political Science Department. Delegate to the Constitutional Convention 1961-62. Past president and member of Southwestern Michigan Chapter of American Society of Public Administration. Life member of Michigan State Association of County Clerks. Former chairman of Michigan Federation of Young Republicans. Delegate 1970, White House Conference on Children. Charter member of Kalamazoo County Kennel. Member of Municipal Finance Officer's Association and Executive Board of the Republican State Central Committee of Michigan.

Notable Facts:
Committees: Elections (chair); Agriculture and Economic Development; and municipalities. Died in office. According to the Detroit Free Press Senator Stamm's death gave the Democrats a 19 to 18 voting edge in the Senate, but Republicans are expected to maintain working control. But the Democrats decided not to take advantage of the situation.
