Biographical Sketch:
Son of Albert and Sofia (Ulm) Pilch. Of Polish and Austrian descent. Worked in the welfare commissary during the depression; enrolled in the CCC for 3 years. 1936-40 worked as a reporter in Ilinois and Washington, DC; 1940-50 news editor for the Dearborn Press in Dearborn, MI until 1948 when he join the mayor's staff; 1943-45 served as a GI in the army. 1950-66 Director of Research and Information, city of Dearborn. Served on the Wayne County Board of Commissioners, 1977-80. Member, Kiwanis; Elks; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Knights of Columbus.
