Biographical Sketch:
Son of Harvey and Elizabeth (Likins) Hawley. Moved to Kent County April, 1854 and to Keene Township in Ionia Co.in November. He served as highway commissioner, justice of the peace and supervisor [3 terms]. He was a director of the Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of Ionia County.

One of 16 children. Find-a-Grave gives birth year as 1832; 1891 Manual says 1834 Chapman (IO) gives death date as 4/7/1891. Died in office.
