Biographical Sketch:
Attended school in Kilmarnock, Scotland. Emigrated to the US in April of 1854 and moved to Almont in Lapeer Co., MI where he worked as a laborer on a farm. Moved to Dayton twp in Tuscola Co. in 1876 and followed the business of farming. Elected supervisor six consecutive terms beginning in 1877. Elected sheriff in 1882 for 2 terms. He was a prohibition candidate for the Republicans.
