Biographical Sketch:
Son of WIlliam and Agness (Hunter) McKay. Emigrated to the US in April of 1854 and moved to Almont in Lapeer Co., MI, where he worked as a laborer on a farm. Moved to Dayton Twp in Tuscola Co., in 1876 and followed the business of farming. Elected supervisor 6 consecutive terms beginning in 1877. Elected sheriff in 1882 for 2 terms. He was a prohibition candidate for the Republicans. He moved to Caro in 1883.

Notable Facts:
Served in both chambers. Died of cancer.
