Biographical Sketch:
Son of Chancy and Mary (Hungford) Vaughan. He learned the printer's trade at the Lapeer Clarion, then worked 2 years at the Detroit Free Press, in the composing room. He then purchased the Clarion. In 1889, he purchased the Clinton Republican. He served 2 terms as president of St. Johns; and on 3 state boards. He was elected Secretary of State in 1914. He was president of a building and loan association at the time of his death.
