Biographical Sketch:
Son of Cassius M. & Alphonzy (Hopkins) Dennis. He was employed for a time in the law office of Hon . S. Wesselius of Grand Rapids. Taught school in Osceola Co., serving as principal of the schools at Tustin and McBain; worked as a law clerk before buying a share in the McBain Chronicle. He sold this and purchased the Missaukee Republican, in Lake City, in 1897. He held several village and township offices and for two terms was a member of the board of school examiners of Missaukee County. He was a partner in the publication of the Omer (Arenac County) Progress, and was president of a company organized to develop and advertise the natural advantages of his home village as a summer resort. Elected probate judge, 1904.Member of the Maccabees and the Odd Fellows.
