Biographical Sketch:
Son of James D. Town (1852-1933) and Esther (Hoatling) Town (1853-1933).
Died in office in 1942.
English descent. He was a member of the Grange, I.O.O.F., Woodmen and Gleaner lodges. Served four terms in the House of Representatives. He also served as township clerk, treasurer and supervisor, and was chairman of the county board of supervisors during 1918. Influenced the establishment of the Children's Institute in Ann Arbor; a recognized authority on child welfare & training.
