Biographical Sketch:
Son of Robert and Elizabeth (Pariament) MacKay. Father was born in Scotland & his mother in Ontario, Canada. Known as "Sandy," Worked in lumber camps while in high school; in 1896 became a jeweler/watchmaker apprentice. Five years later he purchased the business which has been operated under the name, "Sandy MacKay". In 1923 he was appointed postmaster at West Branch and resigned October 31, 1936. In 1926 he purchased a 100 acre farm near West Branch. Was a member of the Masons, Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythian.
