Biographical Sketch:
Son of Samuel P. and Sarah W. (Watrons or Watrous) Canfield. He moved to Chesterfield, MI with his parents in 1838. He worked as a mason for 10 years before resuming farming. In 1868, he moved to the village of New Haven, MI. He served as Lenox township supervisor, 1870-77. He retired to Mt. Clemens and was living there in 1900.
