Biographical Sketch:
Son of Peter and Martha E. (Wilson) Decker. Held several township & school offices up to 1924. He was chairman of the Fitzgerald for Governor Club during 1934. He farmed from 1910 to 1924 until he became postmaster after which he returned to the farm. He was also district deputy for the Gleaner Life Insurance Society, and handled general insurance.Postmaster 1924-1933. Member Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias.

Notable Facts:
He was elected to the House in a special election held March 4, 1935 to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Hon. John W. Goodwine. Served 16 years in House of Reps before being elected to the Senate. According to Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 19, 1965 House Journal,p. 227, he died 2/8/1965. Middle name is Purdou or Purdon.
