Son of James H. & Mary A. (Potts) Wagner. Moved to Michigan at age 10, c.1866. Began studying law at 17. In 1877, moved to Lexington to work in the bank until 1880 when he moved to Sand Beach and established the Huron County Bank. He engaged in banking, real estate and real estate there. He served as village president as well as village and township treasurer. Member of the Masons & Knights of Honor.
