Biographical Sketch:
He moved to Midland County, MI in September, 1865. He served as mayor of Midland and served 3 years under land commissioner French, as inspector of certain lands held by the state. He has for many years pursued the avocation of a surveyor and is also a dealer in real estate. He is also a prominent Mason, and belonged to the Shriners and was a Knight Templar.s Move to Portland, OR around 1907 and worked as a timberman, buying and selling timber for the Michigan Land and Timber Co. He served as Vice Consul to Toronto under Pres. McKinley; Roosevelt made him Consul to Saigon in Indo-China.

Notable Facts:
Elected the first mayor of Midland in 1887 and re-elected in 1888. Died from accidental gas poisoning.
