In 1974, he founded the Law Firm of Wilson & Wilson P.C. He was Oakland County Commissioner, 1974-1976. In addition he later served as a member of the Michigan Department of Corrections Commission, and on numerous local boards and commissions in Rochester Hills and Hazel Park.
