Son of Samuel and Eliza (Hallock) Kidder. He was a successful teacher for 10 years, when he bought a farm which he managed 17 years, finally moving to the village of Almont where, for12 years, he held the office of supervisor of his township. He was secretary of the Lapeer County Farmers' Mutual Insurance Association for 12 years. Living in Los Angeles in 1920.
