Biographical Sketch:
Son of Bernard Kirk (1841-1899) and Ann (Murphy) Kirk (1841-1897). He practiced law in Ypsilanti and was its city attorney for 4 years. He was a Major and Commander of the 3rd Battalion of the Michigan 31st volunteer infantry; later a Lt.Col. of the 1st Reg. of the Michigan National Guard. Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney, 1897-1900; mayor of Ypsilanti, Mich., 1908-10; president, Ypsilanti Savings Bank. He served as Washtenaw County Bar Association president; and president of the Ypsilanti Savings Bank. Member, Rotary; Elks.
