Biographical Sketch:
Of English and French extraction. Son of James and Sarah J. (Heal) Nottingham. He lived on a farm until 16. He taught school, attended college and worked at the harness trade until age 23. He practiced medicine in Bronson, Branch County, MI, for 3 years. In 1884, he commenced the practice of medicine at Lansing. He was a member of the common council of the city of Lansing for 2 years. He was city health officer and a member and clerk of the board of education.
